    Gorgon, the name of traditional Chinese medicine. It is the dry mature seed kernel of Euryale ferox Salisb. Distributed from Heilongjiang to Yunnan, Guangdong and other places. Kernels are spherical, 5-8mm in diameter, and some are broken into pieces. The surface of the intact one has a reddish-brown or dark purple inner testa, and irregular vein-like reticulation can be seen, and about 1/3 of one end is yellow-white. The embryo is small. Located in a circular dimple at the pale yellow end. The texture is hard, the section is white and powdery. No gas, no taste. It is better to be plump, white in section, powdery, and free of powder. It has the effects of nourishing the kidney and strengthening the essence, invigorating the spleen and stopping diarrhea, and dehumidifying and stopping belt.
